
The judges decided that Spanta and Jean-Baptiste were the worst team because their looks weren’t appropriate or cohesive for their clients. Result: Spanta was teamed with Prajje Oscar Jean-Baptiste and was one of the bottom two teams along with Octavio Aguilar and Katie Kortman. What was the challenge? Teams of two collaborated on a pair of looks for Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski to wear during the 2022 Winter Olympics coverage. When was she eliminated? “Go for the Gold … Sequin” (Week 5) This was the third time he disappointed the judges with his work, so they finally sent him home. Nina Garcia thought his print design was derivative, while Elaine Welteroth struggled to understand his point of view as a designer. Result: Apolonio idea for an abstract kind of “SpongeBob SquarePants” floral design didn’t land with the judges. What was the challenge? To create high-fashion runway looks using newly created floral prints that the designers create themselves. When was he eliminated? “Flower Power” (Week 4) Result: Barlis was in the bottom two with Bones Jones, but it was the second week in a row that Barlis was at the bottom, and this time the judges thought his green, snake-inspired look was confusing and looked unfinished, so they sent him home. What was the challenge? To create gowns for a masquerade ball inspired by a spooky haunted mansion. When was he eliminated? “If You Got It, Haunt It” (Week 3) She withdrew from the competition in the middle of the challenge after cursing out Kenneth Barlis for wanting to switch models and then being called out by Prajje Oscar Jean-Baptiste for being a “fake” ally after all her talk about supporting proper cultural representation. Result: Ferguson wasn’t eliminated by the judges. What was the challenge? In the season’s first individual challenge, the designers created fashionable streetwear looks When did she go home? “#Streetwear” (Week 2) The judges ultimately decided that Black’s unfinished, unflattering mauve coat dress was the worst design of the challenge and sent her home. Result: Black was on the losing team, the cool team, and in the bottom two with Chasity Sereal.

What was the challenge? For two teams of eight to create cohesive collections of warm or cool colors, respectively. When was she eliminated? “A Colorful Return” (Week 1) But as always, it’s a long road to the finale.


The one designer who survives the entire season and wins the competition receives a $250,000 grand prize, a feature in Elle Magazine, and a mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America. As in the show’s last two seasons, the designers are mentored by season four “Runway” champion Christian Siriano, who knows a thing or two about the competition.
